New York, NY, July 7, 2014 – Voices of Gotham (VoG) announced today that its Founding Artistic Director Larry Bomback will step down from his position with Voices of Gotham to accept his new role as the COO/CFO of the Cultural Data Project (CDP) in Philadelphia, PA. The CDP is the emerging national standard for data collection in the arts and cultural sector, and provides an online management tool designed to strengthen arts and cultural organizations by gathering reliable, longitudinal data including financial, programmatic and operational information in a standardized online form. The CDP offers a turnkey solution to each state, with all technology and services provided centrally through the CDP’s Philadelphia headquarters.
During his tenure as the Founding Artistic Director of Voices of Gotham, Larry Bomback led the chorus through two Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS) Mid-Atlantic District championships; a Top Ten designation in the Chorus Competitions at the 2012 BHS International Convention; and the production of the historic BHS 75th Anniversary celebration and webcast.
VoG also announced today a national search for a new Director, who will be responsible for the artistic and musical performance of the chorus at all its performances including conducting or delegating an assistant director to direct each song. Interested applicants can send all application materials or questions to directorsearch@voicesofgotham.org.
Current VoG Assistant Director Eric Engelhardt and VoG Arrangers' Lab member Matt Gallagher will provide musical direction for the chorus during the Director search.
Bomback, who also sings with the acclaimed barbershop quartet 'Round Midnight, plans to continue his work in barbershop harmony, by starting a new men's chorus in Philadelphia. Interested singers can find out more by filling out the form available at http://bit.ly/1uVD4C0.
Voices of Gotham wishes Larry Bomback and his family the absolute best in this exciting new chapter in his career.
